I've always loved using a lot of pictures on my layouts, but sometimes it can overwhelm a theme or main picture.
This month when I received my kit from The Scraproom I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this kit by Crate Paper:
The mini kit included 3 pieces of double sided patterned paper, 2 pieces of cardstock and chipboard stickers.
My plan was for 2 LO's and 3-4 cards. To acheive this I added 1 piece of old heavy duty patterned paper as a base for one LO, 2 8.5 x 11 pieces of white cardstock, and 1 piece of pink paper scrap which was 3" x 6".
Here is what I was able to create:

To create this layout I used a blocking techniqued that allowed me to use both sides of the patterned paper without using all the paper. To do this I started with a really old piece of Basic Grey heavy pp to glue the LO onto. Then I used this sketch:
For the top 2 pieces I cut a 1.5 X 12 piece of pp and ripped it in half then flipped and glued so that the ripped edge was in the middle.
This LO has double the fun because behind the main photo is a mini album:
The pocket was made by taking a 5.25 x 7.25 piece of cardstock and placing pop dots (square foams in the case) around three edges and placing it on the page.
The mini album itself was created by cutting 2 card sized pieces of white cardstock and poking 2 small holes into the top and pushing 2 brad through to hold them together on the back I used a piece of pp to cover the brads. This extra piece of pp is what allows you to pull out the album from the pocket:
